A Bit About Me
Dr. Watkins, originally from New Jersey, has a diverse array of professional interests in veterinary medicine, including emergency medicine and critical care, surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation, behavioral medicine, and integrative/alternative medicine.
Before joining Pennsauken Animal Hospital in 2025, Dr. Watkins gained valuable experience in the field by volunteering at the Liberty Humane Society and working as a technician for four years prior to her veterinary school application.
In 2016, Dr. Watkins earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, complemented by a minor in Marine Science, from Stockton University, where she also achieved the honor of being named to the Dean's List in Fall 2015. She later graduated from Saint George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in January 2024.
Dr. Watkins is an active member of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Business Management Association, and the National Association for Black Veterinarians.
Outside of her commitment to veterinary medicine, she enjoys a variety of activities, including exercising, playing basketball, chess, hiking, traveling, and indulging in culinary adventures. Dr. Watkins shares her home with Caleb, a cockapoo; Franklin, a red-eared slider turtle; and Kisa, a domestic short-haired cat.
