Meet River and Rose
In October 2022, we introduced River, a young pup whose heartbreaking condition left us speechless. His skin was cracked, oozing, and bleeding, causing him immense pain. No matter how he sat, slept, or stood, he was uncomfortable. That look in his eyes was something we were determined to change, just as we did with Penelope. We couldn’t wait for River to feel safe, to heal, and eventually enjoy the simple joys of being a puppy—playing and running. We were committed to helping him, knowing that brighter days were ahead. We got you, River. ❤️
Fast forward to November 2022, and we have exciting news—River has a sister! Meet Rose. ❤️ While we can’t be certain, we’re convinced they’re siblings. Described by their foster mom as Eeyore and Tigger, River is laidback and chill, still carrying a bit of uncertainty, while Rose is full of happy, wild puppy energy. Although Rose shares some of River’s skin issues, she’s in better shape and is helping River embrace his puppyhood. It’s heartwarming to see them together, and we couldn’t resist keeping them united if there was a chance they were littermates. We’re thrilled they’re together. ❤️
River and Rose embody the essence of what we do and highlight the special bond we share within our community. When Camden Animal Control contacted us about River, we knew almost instantly that he needed us. We were amazed when they reached out again after spotting Rose, whose resemblance to River was uncanny. Our Camden Animal Control Officers are incredible advocates for the animals they transport. Despite misunderstandings about their roles, they remain some of the kindest, most compassionate partners we have. We are forever grateful for their dedication and hard work.
