Meet Penelope
In May of 2022, Penelope was found on the side of the road, emaciated, with crystal clear signs of having been used and abused as a bait dog. Her story is written all over her body. She was young but she’s had puppies. Her ears and scars and skin were forever changed. Her one eye was so damaged the only option left was to remove it. But, despite all this, she was still so sweet.
We gave her time to heal and a safe space to learn how to be a playful dog. We were amazed to see a dog who had gone through so much continue to be loving to everyone she met. The transformation was incredible as the fur grew and she gained more weight.
When Penelope was healed enough it was time to find her the best home possible, and that’s when we met Jon & Maria. In July of 2022 Penelope went to her forever home! Once she found her new parents you could see her overflowing with joy as she played, went on new adventures, napped in the sun, and got all the treats.
It is because of the support of our community and the love of our staff we get to see pets like Penelope make massive transformations. It is our passion to give all the Penelope’s out there a second chance.
