A Bit About Me
Growing up in Houston Texas, Dr. Collin Leisz was able to watch his uncle, who was a small animal veterinarian in Dallas. Dr. Leisz always looked up to him and he always supportive of Dr. Leisz in his journey to become a veterinarian. In high school, Dr. Leisz volunteered with a wildlife center in Houston. He also spent a summer working side-by-side with at his uncle's general practice in Dallas.
Currently practicing in South Jersey since 2023, Dr. Leisz's special interests include Surgery and Ophthalmology. When asked what his favorite part of being a veterinarian is, Dr. Leisz said, "Figuring out how to solve similar issues differently depending on finances, ability to medicate, and other general circumstances that are different. It also makes me so happy on rechecks after a successful surgical procedure to see how the pet’s life is improved."
Dr. Leisz's educational background includes attending Texas A&M University, where he studied Biomedical Sciences. He then graduated from St. George's University making the Dean's List. At home, Dr. Leisz and his veterinarian fiance Dr. Mackenzie Johnston take care of Rue, an 8-year-old Golden Retriever/Rottweiler mix, Bowie, a 6-year-old Maine Coon mix, and Pippin 3-year-old Domestic Short Hair. His favorite hobby is gardening. He got really into it during COVID. He also loves literally any sport.
