Meet Leo

Another helping paws happy ending. Leo came in from animal control with a disease caused Calicivirus- this causes very severe upper respiratory signs including chemosis (inflammation of his conjunctiva causing his eyes to not be visible), nasal discharge, ocular discharge, and very painful ulcers in his mouth that made him not want to eat. He also was full of fleas.

This disease is extremely contagious and unfortunately is not treated at all shelters unless they have the facilities to isolate them by themselves. Luckily, we found a foster for Leo and got his treatment underway.

Leo got a bath, flea treatment, and eye meds, antibiotics, and numbing pain meds for his mouth to help him eat. He quickly started to turn around. Swipe to see his progress in 2 quick weeks! After he was cleared, he got neutered and got his shots and quickly found his forever home! Happy life Leo!
